One of the key things you need to do to succeed at a Keto/Low Carb-High Fat (LCHF) lifestyle is to break yourself of depending on packaged and processed foods.

There are a few steps you can do RIGHT NOW to set yourself up for success.

  1. Remove all rice, potato, grains (wheat, oats, quinoa, rye, smelt etc.), products like crackers, cookies, chips, cereal, oats, quinoa all need to go because of 2 reasons: 1. They tend to have less nutritional value and 2. All of these foods tend to elevate the blood sugar which results in more insulin being needed and potentially more excess glucose being stored as fat. It’s time to break the cycle of dependence.
  1. Replace that food with food that aligns with lowering your daily carbs. Green leafy veggies, colorful fresh vegetables, avocado, nuts, seeds, prepared proteins (steak, chicken, fish etc). ¬†You can even buy pre-made salads and veggie oriented meals from grocery stores. While making these things yourself is always better, using option like these will keep you from grabbing food you DON’T want to eat because you are prepared with good food!There is a great quote for the Paleo Diet, Ketogenic and the LCHF ¬†lifestyle, and it helps a lot.Eat food that comes primarily from the refrigerator, not the pantry and you will be on the right track! The 2nd trick is to focus on shopping on the outside aisles in the grocery store, not the interior ones (though you can use frozen veggies if you’d like). GENERALLY speaking this helps keep you out of trouble. The exception would be oils, dressings, olives that are normally located on interior aisle shelves.
